Job Description


Credit Analysis

  • Reviews complex loan requests to ensure applicant, loan purpose and collateral eligibility meet Association requirements
  • Reviews financial information from lending staff for accuracy and completeness
  • Analyzes balance sheets, tax returns, repayment worksheets and credit bureau information by:
    • Performing projections based on financial statements, historical data and agricultural trends to determine long-term profitability
  • Determines if applicant’s financial ratios meet Association standards

Loan Documentation

  • Determines loan documents needed to perfect liens by reading through paperwork from branches
  • Summarizes current and past year data for review by other team members
  • Services and monitors lower risk and less complex loans
  • Identifies signatures needed to bind entity and/or pledge collateral
  • Conducts additional research by requesting additional required information and/or performs calculations as needed before data is entered into the system (chattel searches, request credit bureau reports, multiple entity loans, cash flow calculations, income statement preparation, and/or prepared tax returns)
  • Assembles, confirms, and enters financial data into portfolio management database
  • Verifies accuracy of documents
  • Constructs consolidated financial information and completes after-close balance sheets, income statements, and analysis summaries

Credit Recommendation

  • Negotiates, approves, and assigns appropriate loan conditions and covenants
  • Recommends/approves changes to loan structure if needed
  • Writes a narrative to explain overall financial position and credit worthiness of an applicant
  • Approves or denies loan application within credit authority based on Association standards
  • Recommends approval or denial for loans over individual credit authority

Internal Loan Reviews

  • Reviews loan documentation files to ensure compliance with Association standards and FCA regulations
  • Recommends corrections or additions to loan files

Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, finance, accounting, or agribusiness. Two years financial analysis, accounting, or credit analysis experience.
